Wahyu 2:23

2:23 Furthermore, I will strike her followers ¹  with a deadly disease, ²  and then all the churches will know that I am the one who searches minds and hearts. I will repay ³  each one of you ⁴  what your deeds deserve. ⁵ 

Wahyu 20:12-15

20:12 And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne. Then ⁶  books were opened, and another book was opened – the book of life. ⁷  So ⁸  the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to their deeds. ⁹  20:13 The ¹⁰  sea gave up the dead that were in it, and Death ¹¹  and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each one was judged according to his deeds. 20:14 Then ¹²  Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death – the lake of fire. 20:15 If ¹³  anyone’s name ¹⁴  was not found written in the book of life, that person ¹⁵  was thrown into the lake of fire.

22:12 (Look! I am coming soon,

and my reward is with me to pay ¹⁶  each one according to what he has done!

[2:23]  ² tn Grk “I will kill with death.” θάνατος (qanatos) can in particular contexts refer to a manner of death, specifically a contagious disease (see BDAG 443 s.v. 3; L&N 23.158).

[2:23]  ³ tn Grk “I will give.” The sense of δίδωμι (didwmi) in this context is more “repay” than “give.”
